I’m a true believer that only if you envision the future you want, do you have a chance to get there. Do you have a plan for 2016? A personal plan. Similar to a business plan, but for your whole life. Your personal plan may include a place you’d like to take your business; but it would also include how you plan to better yourself.
It’s important to have a plan.
On a personal level, I would like to enjoy my family more and do more with them. I now have two children in high school and I feel like instead of counting up to graduation since Kindergarten, the countdown has begun. Their days at home are numbered and I want to enjoy every one of them.
We very rarely go on vacation. Our budget has just never allowed for it; but I would like to do more with my kids – get them away from the computers and the TV’s and get them out exploring. That may mean going on hikes to the mountains, going to lunch in the North End of Boston, teaching them to play golf, or going for a bike ride.
We’ve never travelled outside of the United States. I plan to do my research and make a plan to visit Canada or even Europe in the near future.
On the business side, I’d like to grow this business. I truly enjoy painting furniture. I’d like to improve my technique and paint more. I’d like to create new things to sell and find new ways to promote them.
I’d like to write more. In 2016, I’ll be posting on a regularly scheduled basis, three days a week. This will allow me to plan out my posts and provide you with quality, useful content.
I’d like to write more. Not just for this blog, but for other small businesses as well. I’d like to do more freelance writing.
Yes, 2016 sounds very promising and I’m really looking forward to it!
What is your plan?
