Remember when being at the kid’s table wasn’t a cool thing? Well that has all changed. Yesterday I showed you a set of 50-year old solid wood kids chairs that were owned by a local family. That same family also passed along to me two solid wood rectangle tables they used along with those wood chairs.
Furniture pieces with a local history are some of my favorite. You can estimate the age and know that if they are still solid after the many years of use (in this case over 50 years), then they are quality pieces that were well taken care of and have the potential to last another 50+ years.
Today’s refinished furniture is for the little ones in the family and so you can get inspired to start preparing for the upcoming holiday.
Both tables were matching, but since I already had THIS stained kids’ Thanksgiving Table in stock, I decided to stain just one of these and paint the other.
As you can see, the first table was stained in a rich English Chestnut and polyurethaned to match the set of four kids chairs pictured.
The second table was painted in a very durable black enamel and, although it’s not necessary, I polyurethaned the top while I had it out for even more protection.
So make those kiddos feel extra special during Thanksgiving dinner and then later on use it as their very own desk and craft space.
These tables are now available in Entri Ways’ online Shop.
