An Entri Ways refinishing expert will transform your old, worn or loved furniture by custom-painting or staining it to the color of your choice.
If you reside on the North Shore of Massachusetts and are considering a refresh to your furniture, start the conversation by emailing us at info [@] EntriWays.com. Remember to add our email to your address book so our reply doesn’t end up in your spam folder.
In order to expedite our project communication and meet your needs, include detailed photos photos of the furniture, dimensions, and stain or color color preferences. Do you have an inspiration board? Do share it! Not sure exactly what you want? We can guide you on color and design ideas if you’re not sure exacly what you’d like.
We like to see where your furniture will be placed when complete – and see the big picture so our refinishing complements your space and function. If you feel this is helpful, email photos of the room where the furniture will be placed so we get a feel for your style, interests, and colors in the room.
Our Pricing Structure
Estimates are provided here to give you an idea of what your custom furniture painting quote might look like – often still priced far below purchasing a new piece of furniture.
Times noted below are estimates and assume sanding, primer, paint, and topcoat (if needed). The average project will be worked on for 5 to 6 days to allow for adequate dry time between coats.
Some projects do require additional coats and hours of time that can extend the labor by 1-2 hours. Estimates are for exterior finishing only. Interior finishing can be quoted upon request.
- Primer: BIN $18.00; Regular $10.00
- Paint: Enamel/Latex $30; Milk $30; Chalk $45
- Glaze: $20
- Topcoat: Gloss, Satin, or Matte $20.00; Flat $30
- Stain: $10; Gel stain $25
Understanding Your Project
When we estimate a project, we’ll include the labor & supplies required to complete your order. This includes:
- Prep work (i.e. sanding, wood filling, etc.)
- Painting & Paint/Stain (paint, stain, glaze, top coat, etc.)
- Distressing (when desired)
- Supplies (i.e. brushes, sandpaper, wood filler, etc.)
While it may appear to brush on a coat of paint is quick, the sanding, repair, priming, topcoat, and dry times add significant time to every project. Based on our expert experience, following is an estimate of how long your project will take to complete.
- Large furniture (sideboards, long dressers, dining tables): 6 to 8 hours
- Medium furniture (tall dressers, beds, desks, coffee/sofa tables, cedar chests): 5 to 6 hours.
- Small furniture (side tables, headboards, mirrors, chairs): 2 to 3 hours.
Hardware is sourced or provided by you. Upon consultation and when we define the design, we are happy to help guide you on this purchase through a store or online supplier.
Product Finishes We Use
We specialize in modern finishes and most often work with General Finishes Milk paint and glazes, Benjamin Moore enamels or latex, various Chalk paint brands, and oil-based stains. If you prefer VOC-free products, please notify us before the quoting process begins. Shop our furniture for sale or past projects to see the variety of projects and finishes to find inspiration.
Pick-up & Delivery
Entri Ways works locally in the northeast portion of Massachusetts. You are responsible for dropping off and picking up furniture at times mutually agreed upon at our Woburn, MA location, unless otherwise discussed and quoted.
We require your furniture to be picked up within 4 days of being notified to avoid unnecessary storage fee of $25 per day that will be applied to your order. We are a busy studio with limited space and know you’ll understand and also be excited to see your refinished piece. Any furniture not picked up within 14 days of notification will become the property of Entri Ways and deposit retained.
Depending on the size and scope of the project and the number of projects we have in the queue, turnaround time can vary; but generally runs at 2 weeks.
Our Right of Refusal
We will not paint furniture of high collectible value in its current state, nor are we estimators. You determine your furniture’s value and guide us on the refinishing or painting for which you are retaining our services.
Extra large, oversized pieces such as hutches, large armoires, and bookcases are not a fit for our studio and in most cases will not be accepted. We will not paint cribs.
If your furniture holds sentimental value, you must be aware that there is a risk, although rare, of damage or a piece not accepting paint/stain due to its current condition. We make every effort to satisfy and offer advisable finishes – but with every creation, there is risk that you’ll need to accept.
Our studio is unable to strip paint or work with lead paint. If a furniture piece is already painted and the paint finish is in good condition (no heavy chipping or peeling that may leave bumps on a newly painted surface), we will discuss the refinishing options to employ. This may include painting over the existing finish.
How Do You Get Started?
A $100 nonrefundable deposit is required before work begins. This is put toward the purchase of supplies and will be applied to your final order. Remaining balance is due upon pick-up of completed furniture and can be made in cash or online via PayPal. A signed Statement of Work and Hold Harmless Agreement is required on all projects.
We look forward to your project and transforming your special piece into a treasured, functional piece of furniture for your home.
