One of the benefits (or hazzards depending on how you look at it) of having a public blog is that you can post your goals and be held accountable for them. By posting a goal publicly, it pushes you to achieve that goal or threaten to publicly humiliate you. This time around as I tell you I’m going to try the 10 Day Detox diet, I’m hoping for the former rather than the latter.
Earlier today as I was driving to an inspirational business meeting, I listened to a Tony Robbins’ podcast. I really enjoy podcasts over radio when driving alone. Today, Tony’s guest speaker was Dr. Mark Hyman, author of the 10 Day Detox Diet cookbook. By the time I arrived, I was thinking that this is something I should try.
10 Day Detox
Two years ago I tried the Whole30 diet. While I wasn’t able to make the entire 30 days, what came out of it was that I learned I have a gluten intolerance. Not a gluten allergy, I just feel better when I don’t eat foods containing gluten. No aching muscles or joints, no headaches, no bloating, and I have more energy. So it makes sense to me that this 10 Day Detox works in the same way and must have similar benefits.
Then later when I got home and was going through my Facebook feed, a post from Danielle at #FindingSilverPennies showed up. Her original post was written a year ago, but I remember reading it when she originally wrote it and the fantastic results she and her family achieved.
Today, the universe was telling me something. It was telling me there’s something about this book… this 10 Day Detox… that I need to follow.
I’m not able to paint very many furniture pieces December through February. The winters are long, cold, and snowy (which I love by the way), but it also means I don’t get much exercise. I’d rather lay on the couch than get up and move – which is very bad! So the least I could do is try to eat better until March when the warmer weather arrives.
Also notice the beginning title of this book… The Blood Sugar Solution. Just yesterday, I wrote THIS post about getting a better night’s sleep. When I woke up this morning, my first thought was that I forgot to include one more thing as part of that post… the part about reducing your sugar intake for a better night’s sleep. I’ve since updated the post to include it, so you can go back and check it out.
That’s 3 things in 24 hours all pointing me toward this 10 Day Detox Diet book!
I better listen to my guardian angel sending me this message. Don’t you think?
So I’m posting it publicly here. Whether to be motivated or humiliated, we’ll have to see; but hopefully motivated. If you follow along, your encouragement, support, and comments pushing me to succeed would be greatly appreciated to keep me going, either here on the Entri Ways’ facebook page.
I ordered Dr. Hyman’s 10 Day Detox Diet book on Amazon today. It should arrive by early next week. Give me just a few days to read through it and then…
