Favorite Outdoor Sectional Cushions on Amazon – Now is the Time to Buy Them!

It may only be the first week of March and we are still officially in the Winter season, but trust me when I say that if you need replacement cushions and slipcovers for your outdoor furniture, NOW is the time to buy them!…

UPDATE: The day after I posted this (3/05/2024), I noticed that the AMOPATIO cushions I purchased went on sale another $40 less than what I paid! NOW really is the time to buy them…

I just love our covered back porch. It’s the perfect place to sit any time of day.

The porch faces east so in the early morning it gets lots of energizing sun. And in the afternoons it”s the perfect amount of cooling shade.

We have a few pieces of furniture out there, but two years ago in May, my brother and sister-in-law passed down a 6-seat outdoor sectional sofa to us that they no longer needed. It was only a few years old and in perfect condition.

Except for the cushions, which were a bit weathered and orange (not my color). And there were a lot of them!

Luckily, that same day, we walked into a Sun Ski & Patio store and they just happened to be having a liquidation / clearance sale on all of their outdoor furniture and cushions. The store decided to phase out patio and bring in bikes instead. So for us, it was our lucky day!

They had a ton of random pieces of furniture and cushions. I was able to score 2 ottomans for only $25 each (these easily run $150+) and 7 navy blue 25″ square sectional seat cushions with Sunbrella fabric for only $25 each!

The original price tags were still on the cushions and marked $260 each. (Doesn’t that seems like a crazy price for one cushion?)

One small problem though… They didn’t have any back cushions to match.

No problem, says crafty me. I’ll just dye the back orange cushions to match these new navy seat cushions.

Then I research and read that if I try to dye orange into navy blue, it could turn the fabric brown.

No problem. I’ll just buy new navy blue cushions on Amazon. I saved on the sectional sofa (free) and on the seat cushions (only $25 each), so I could afford to buy the back cushions. Right?

The only problem is that I missed the window to buy that year.

It was now May and every set of navy blue cushions I looked at was sold out.

It was too late in the season to buy outdoor cushions.

No problem. I’ll just go on Etsy and find someone that makes slipcovers for cushions.

Well, that would have been ok, but to make 7 back cushions the price was still $400 and it was going to take 3-4 months to have them made.

So I lived with the orange back cushions that year.

And the next… because we had other expenses last year.

But this was going to the the year! We’re having a backyard graduation/moving/wedding barbecue party this year and I really needed those navy blue cushions.

So I started looking for cushions on Amazon in mid-February.

And do you know what I found? Tons of options! In the color and sizes I needed to fit the sectional sofa.

So I’m hear to say… that if you need to order outdoor cushions or slipcovers, do it now! Do not wait until May or (speaking from experience) they will be sold out in a few weeks.

Also, if the cushion inserts you have are still in good condition you can save even more by ordering slipcovers on Amazon. There are lots of options. Unfortunately, the orange back cushions were now more than 5 years old and the inserts were moldy.

So I ordered an entire set of 14 cushions with navy blue covers (seats and backs) for only around $225.

That, I thought, was an incredible deal after seeing the $260 price tag on ONE Sunbrella seat cushion for $260 and then $400 to custom slipcover just the back cushions.

Now the best part….

I spent days looking at these sets on Amazon. And I’m going to save you all of that time, by showing you the Amazon sets I narrowed down my search to.

AMOPATIO 14-Piece Outdoor Cushion Set

They all look pretty similar. But this first set by Amopatio is the one I chose.

A few things set this set apart in the Amazon description.

First, it was the only one with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 designation. This means that “every component of a textile product… is tested against a list of more than 1,000 harmful regulated and unregulated chemicals which may be harmful to human health.”

Second, the description said the covers were “waterproof”. The other brands said “water-resistant”.

Third, The seat cushions have foam (they specifically call it “sponge” in the listing). And it seems from the description that the back cushions also use foam for the inserts. Some other brands use cotton fill.

Fourth, on the Amazon sales page it clearly says they are “Eligible for return, refund, or replacement within 30 days of receipt”.

Fifth, free shipping. This set wasn’t the cheapest one I found, but it did include free shipping which always gets me.

And Finally, their customer service was excellent and quick to respond when I contacted them about the price drop. Thank you AMOPATIO.

The entire set arrived from Amazon vacuum-packed in one box in just 2 days. I’ve only opened one of the back seat cushions so far to check the color and quality and so far, both seem excellent.

UDPATIO 14-Piece Outdoor Cushion Set

This next 14-piece outdoor cushion set is by UDPATIO.

Honestly, I think these are the same cushions as the AMOPATIO. The price may appear to be $20 less, but you have to pay additional for shipping with this one so it works out to be about the same price. It also comes in several colors.

FKSLIFE 14-Piece Outdoor Cushion Set

If you prefer cushions with contrasting edges, then you may like this FKSLIFE 14-piece cushion set. And it comes in several different colors also.

It’s a little more expensive but still under $300.

I was really tempted to get this one since my navy blue seat cushions have white piping. But I also have a black have a black dog to consider.
