This past Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the 20th Annual Newburyport PTO Kitchen Tour & Tasting in Newburyport, Massachusetts. This was a fundraiser to benefit the Newburyport Public Schools (grades preK-8) and I am thrilled to announce they raised over $30,000 with this amazing event!
Event organizer, Dorene Olsen provided us with a few preview images last week which you can see in THIS post; yet these photos were a very small slice of the 9 gorgeous homes included on the tour. The homes we toured were absolutely stunning, magazine-worthy, designer showpieces.
We started the event at the office of event sponsor William Raveis Real Estate in downtown Newburyport, MA where we were welcomed by event volunteers, including Dorene herself. Here attendees were provided with a brief overview of the tour, a gift bag, and a 37-page tour book guide.
The tour book, which served as attendees’ ticket to each home on the tour, included an easy-to-follow map, full pages featuring each home, and advertisements from sponsors, designers, and businesses such as the cabinet makers, tile, flooring, lighting, and hardware vendors. It was so nice to see them all come together to support this fundraising event.
Each home’s feature page was a pleasure to read through as they included a brief description and history of the home, the designers, suppliers/vendors, and even the the paint colors! They thought of everything and, for those of us considering a kitchen update or full renovation, made it easy to contact the suppliers to duplicate the look.
The first three homes on the tour were walkable which my daughter and I really enjoyed. I’ve been to Newburyport a hundred times, but THIS time, was able to walk so many new-to-me streets in this historical seaport town.
Although not part of the tour, this home (below) is an example of an area home. Notice the classic New England architecture and brick-lined sidewalks!
At each home on the tour, we were greeted by the friendliest event volunteers! This was a really special touch. They made you feel welcome and directed you inside to the kitchen.
Along the way, we were also treated with views of living rooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, and outdoor porches. Oh…wait until your see the outdoor spaces below! They were such a special treat.
Speaking of treats… Several of the homes on the tour featured food and drinks, including this sweet barista serving coffee from Battle Grounds Coffee Company and Figtree Kitchen Dinosaur donut bites. So delicious!
I’m sure by now you are anxious to see the interiors of these incredible homes. I took over 130 photos. Enjoy a few of them below along with some details from the tour book.
