The Big Reveal: Our New Dining Room Light Fixture

We finally did it!   It took me 17 years to decide, but we finally purchased a dining room light fixture and I’m absolutely in love with it.  We chose the Odie Pendant 8-Light Fixture on Wayfair.  I first introduced it to you last week in THIS post when I found it on Wayfair who really did have just what I needed.

The stars have to align perfectly for me to make any purchase.  Especially a permanent light fixture like this one.

First, we have to love it because we’ll be living with it for many, many, many years.

Second, we have to save for it.  We’re not a flashy family with a house filled with expensive items or items paid for on credit.  As a matter of fact, we’re super conservative and have a house filled with thrift store refinished furniture and hand-me-downs.   Those dining chairs pictured – thrift store.  We even lean toward being minimalists.

And finally, the price has to be right and it was.

I first saw the Odie Pendant Light on Home Made Lovely.  Shannon’s dining room is absolutely stunning and her photos did help push me over the edge to finally purchase this light fixture, but I’m pretty sure if I found it on my own at Wayfair, I still would have bought it without hesitation because it did fit all of my requirements.

Those requirements…

I wanted a long, multi-light fixture that gave off lots of light.  We’ve never eaten or worked at the dining room table because it’s a dark space at night, so we needed a fixture with more than a single bulb.

The fixture could not have messy wires or chains.  (I really don’t like those.)   It could not have glass that would have to dusted. (I really don’t like to dust.)  And it needed to hang from a single junction box in the center of the room.  (Because that’s how the house was wired.)

I wanted a fixture that was light and airy, modern, yet warm.   This fixture is all that!  I absolutely love it.

The Odie Pendant light comes in black and bronze.  We chose the bronze to coordinate with a light fixture already hanging over our kitchen island.  It’s perfect for us.
