Let’s continue the home tours from the Newburyport PTO Kitchen Tour with this renovated bright and expansive farmhouse home. Throughout this home you will find thoughtful solutions to what could have been challenging architecture. Walk up the path and see what I mean…

The sidewalk view of this 1916 renovation farmhouse now features the front door. But if you walk to the far side (the side of the original front door) you’ll encounter the massive granite stones and steps, off-set perfectly to create a practical piece of art that leads up to the covered porch. These homeowners took what could have been an awkward transition and made it a beautiful architectural landscaped feature.
Now step inside and enjoy the view because there’s so much to see. Just inside the door is an eating area with a round table for six. Blue Amalfi OMEGA cabinets are on the back wall.
And don’t forget to notice the colorful centerpiece of real lemons with just a few springs of greenery tucked inside the arrangement. Simple and fresh.
Then as you turn to the left, you see that the entire room is massive. The homeowners actually removed the 2nd floor of the old farmhouse.
That expanse and the ceiling height now called for two delicate (but massive) black candlestick chandeliers to fill the open air. The black perfectly contrasts againsts the white shiplap ceiling.
The light appears to be the Belfair 12-light chandelier (on LightingDirect.com for $2,899), but you all know I love to find less expensive dupes on Amazon. HERE’S A SIMILAR ONE for less than $150.
The cabinets are Elemental White. The countertops are LX Calcutta Plata quartz and the perfect place to showcase the matching white Smeg appliances.
White subway tile and open shelving, trending in several of the homes on the tour, hold decorative items, greenery, and a set of coffee cups that I imagine is used daily.
