Happy Labor Day Weekend! Did you know that we observe Labor Day to pay tribute to the contribution and achievements of American workers? So how do you do that? Do you relax at the beach or a lake house, work around the yard then hang at the pool, or go on a day trip? Whatever your plans, be sure to take the time to recognize all of the hard work you put in all year long, along with every other person you run into on a daily basis.
And while you’re sitting at the beach, the lake, the pool, or just on your back porch enjoying a little down-time, you may want to browse some (of my) favorite finds on Amazon.

.
You’ll see that this week’s favorite finds are centered around a black and white theme because I have finally finished painting the main floor of our house white! Yup! The yellow walls are in the past.
But you know what that means… it means a few new accessories. Nothing extravagant and nothing expensive – just a few new treats.
In some upcoming posts, you’ll see how I actually refinished and re-used a few of the accessories I had. But a girl’s got to have a few, new updated accessories once in a while too. Who’s with me?
So the new wall color is a Sherwinn Williams color called Fundamental White. It’s a warm winter-white – not too stark, a little creamy in warm light, and nice and bright in direct sunlight.

Here’s a little secret – for a 30-year span (and probably even today), I was known for always wearing a white shirt. It may be a white blouse or a t-shirt, but every day I wear some white.
When I wear a tan shirt, or any medium-toned shirt really, I feel ho-hum. I feel drab, dull, and frumpy. I don’t feel my best in dull colors.
When I put on a white shirt, I feel rejuvenated and energetic! I feel much more confident and creative! That’s probably why I love a great white shirt like this one. And it’s only $32.99 on Amazon! It’s already in my cart.
When I found this set of faux potted plants on Amazon, it made me look around my house at my own imitation plants and realize mine are really outdated. Time for this small update. And I love that the pots resemble stone.

If I didn’t actually look at the brand name on this white lamp, I swear it could pass for Tommy Hilfiger style – which I love. Hilfiger’s navy, red, and white themed clothes and accessories is perfectly simple and stylish.
At least 80% of my dishtowels are actually embarrassing to use when guests come to the house. It’s time for them to be relegated to the rag pile before guests come for Thanksgiving dinner this year. This set of 8 has over 10,000 five-star reviews, so they are now in my Amazon cart!
Sweater weather is just days away here in New England. It’s a little more ivory than I would normally wear, but this one looks so super cozy. And I love that there’s a long back-side to cover my bottom and a shorter front to show off my sleek black work pants (which are further down in this post).
OK… do not hesitate to order these shoes!!! I have two pairs of these Dansko sandals and plan to order a third. I’m super particular about my shoes because I can no longer wear heels – but I also cannot wear shoes that are totally flat.
The heel on this sandal is just enough to give height. But notice how much cushion lift is under the toe – that’s what makes these sandals so comfortable I can stand and walk in them all day.
Even though I’ve lived in my other two pairs for the past two years and they are not even remotely worn out, I’m ordering a third pair to be sure I have them for the next few years! – And because they are on sale right now from $139 to less than $70.
I just realized we’re no longer talking about home accessories to go with my new white walls. But I am still in the black & white theme. And I could not leave these Yogispace pants out.
Take your favorite yoga pants – you know the soft ones that fit like a glove – and combine them with your favorite stylish jeans. Then imagine that combination looks like a pair of black dress pants and WHAM! you have Yogipace pants.
I have 2 of these and LIVE IN THEM!
Take your measurements, including your inseam length, follow the size chart and order the size it tells you. Mine ended up being 1 to 2 sizes larger than I would have normally ordered, but they fit perfectly! – so go by the size chart measurements. You can thank me later.
Ok, back to the home. By changing out a few of our flush-mount ceiling fixtures and painting our walls white, it really made our home look much more modern.
I’ve seen these light fixtures for well over $100 and even $200 each. On Amazon these are only $45 for the pair! You now have no excuse for not updating your ceiling fixtures.

I move my wall art around pretty often to recycle and make it look “new”. While I love cows, I decided the cow picture with the cherry frame just was not going to work with the new white walls and cleaner look I was trying to create.
This 30-inch modern, round mirror was the perfect accessory to fill the now blank wall in the hallway. It’s practical and it looks great!
And here’s a pretty stone vase, just because I love it…
Happy Labor Day!
Remember to appreciate all the hard work you’ve put in this year.
And Happy Shopping!
