Hello sweet friends! I realize it’s been a while since we last talked. We were in the middle of a very long renovation project. And today I’m sharing the very end of that renovation… our new blue & white Safavieh runner rugs and how I found them on Amazon for an amazing price.
Note: This post is not sponsored by Safavieh. However it does contain affiliate links to products I use and love. All opinions are my own.
Trust me there is soooo much more I need to catch you up on that’s been happening over the past 6 months. Like the fact that we had to remove all of the wall-t0-wall carpets on our 2nd floor because they were making me sick — so much to share on my recovery from mycotoxins exposure! — which lead to removing baseboards, cleaning everything, disposing of tons, painting everything, laying new hardwood floors, and so much more.
I’ll share it all, I promise. It’s been an enormous six month long project that we worked like crazy to complete by Christmas.
For today, let’s start at the end and see a bit of the finished project. One of my favorite parts actually…. the blue and white runner rugs….

Safavieh Abstract Collection Runner Rug
I’ve been contemplating replacing our wall-t0-wall carpets for the past 4 years. I visited so many carpet stores and brought samples home, but was always underwhelmed by the choices.
When we finally decided to install new hardwood floors — and when I say “we” I mean my husband, son, and myself (but mostly my husband) — it was a such a blessing because I could finally get the the color and contrast of printed blue and white runner rugs that I loved so much without the commitment of them being permanent wall-to-wall and without the high cost!
The one challenge would be finding runner rugs in all the right lengths to fit in my hallway around the staircase and in our master bedroom around the bed. We needed six different rugs in 5 different sizes.
Here are the links to see these rugs on Amazon:
- 1 Runner Rug 2.3′ x 6′
- 2 Runner Rugs 2.3′ x 8′
- 1 Runner Rug 2.3′ x 14′
- 1 Runner Rug 2.3′ x 18′
- 1 Area Rug 5′ x 8′
One night, shortly after we tore out the wall-t0-wall carpets and were living on plywood, I was shopping online at Birch Lane and Wayfair and found a Safavieh blue and white printed runner rug that I absolutely loved. Well it was actually blue & ivory, but not beige or yellow. It’s more of a warm white, not a stark bright white.
It was the Safavieh Abstract Collection in Blue & Ivory.

It was a wool rug, which meant it was a natural fiber and would be durable and easy to clean.
It’s a heavy-weight rug with a thick cotton backing which meant it would not scratch our new hardwood and did not need any sort of rug pad underneath (I despise those).
How do I know all of this just from seeing it online? Because it was the exact same runner rug I have in my downstairs hallway that I love love love!

It gets even better… the rugs came in all five sizes I needed and more!
And they were all on sale!
Of course I added them to my cart immediately. There was no way I was going to pass up finding a wool rug, in the exact sizes and shade of navy blue color I wanted (and needed to match my already existing blue & ivory curtain panels.
The total came to around $1,200 for all six rugs. I actually thought that was a pretty good deal considering two of the runners were 14-ft and 18-ft long.
But wait… just before I hit that buy button, I decided to check around online to see if I could find the rugs for a little less. And I did!!!!

I found all six rugs on Amazon for only $600. That, my friends, is an amazing price for these wool rugs!!!
SHOP HERE… Here are links for each of the sizes I purchased and a few other sizes I found for you:
- Safavieh Abstract Runner 2.3′ x 4′
- Safavieh Abstract Runner 2.3′ x 6
- Safavieh Abstract Runner 2.3′ x 8′
- Safavieh Abstract Runner 2.3′ x 14′
- Safavieh Abstract Runner 2.3′ x 16′
- Safavieh Abstract Runner 2.3′ x 18′
- Safavieh Abstract Runner 2.3′ x 20′
- Safavieh Abstract Area Rug 2′ x 3′
- Safavieh Abstract Area Rug 3′ x 5′
- Safavieh Abstract Area Rug 5′ x 8′
- Safavieh Abstract Area Rug 8′ x 10′

One more thing that I love about these rugs…
These rugs are heavy enough to lay flat when you first unroll them. If the ends don’t lay flat, all you have to to is roll the ends backwards to bend the rug in the opposite directly for about 30 seconds and they lay perfectly flat on the hardwood.

Here’s How to Search Amazon For These Rugs
Finding the exact rugs on Amazon was a little tricky because even if Birch Lane or Wayfair carries the exact same rug as Home Depot or Lowes or Amazon, each store will have it’s own name for the rug.
On Birch Lane these rugs are named the Linsly rug. And you can certainly head over there and buy them in all the sizes at a decent price.
But here’s a secret…
To find the same rug on Amazon, you need to know who manufactures the rug. In this case it’s a Safavieh brand. I knew this because I already had one in my downstairs hall and the brand name is printed on the back side of the rug. I also recognized the Safavieh backing in the online photos.
Knowing the brand, I searched Amazon by typing in the brand + the color.
The first match I found was listed on Amazon as ” Safavieh Abstract Collection Runner Rug – 2’3″ x 18′, Blue & Ivory, Handmade Wool…” But it wasn’t as if that single listing let me choose multiple size of the same rug.
To find the same rug in different sizes, I used that exact description and changed only the length from 18′ to 14′ then to 8′ then to 6′ to find all of the sizes I needed.
If that search method doesn’t work for you, here’s another way to search…
Take a screenshot of the rug. On your Mac computer do this by holding the Shift-Command-4 keys at the same time. Then when the + shows up, highlight the area on the screen you’d like to save as a photo. It will save it to your desktop.
Then go to google.com. In the search, click the camera to add a photo. Google will search for that item and show results of where you can buy it. Just read the detailed descriptions to be sure it’s the same item.

If you love these runner and area rugs as much as I do, I would really appreciate if you shopped through my links in this post above. Thank you & Enjoy!
