2-Minute DIY Card Holders

 

Good Morning.   It’s Sunday morning.  The house is quiet – everyone is still sleeping – and I’m watching one of my favorite TV shows… Fixer Upper.  Joanna & Chip are adorable and talented designers.  What I like most about their style is that they use old, found items and work them into their newly-refinished home designs.  They use a lot of rustic and old-world yard sale finds.  Very inspiring.

On to today’s DIY project… a Christmas card holder you can make in just two minutes.

To make this card holder, simply wrap a wide ribbon around a door and it’s ready for you to staple the cards to the ribbon as they arrive in the mail.  Here we used a tall door and leaned it against the wall.  This is actually a cabinet door purchased from Ikea’s clearance section for only $10.

Here’s a view from the back of the door.  Center your ribbon on the front (top) of the the door, wrap it horizontally around to the back, tie a knot, and flip the two long ends over the top so they hang down the front.  Easy, easy!

Or, tie the ribbon to an existing closet door, around a large framed picture, mirror, or chalkboard.

Use the same method to tie the ribbon around the door.

You can also hang the ribbon from a window.

Simply open the top half of the window, slide the ribbon through, and close the window on the ribbon to secure it.

There’s no need to have cards cluttering your countertops.  Open them and staple them to the ribbons right away so you can enjoy them.
