In just three days, my workshop went from nearly-empty to so-stocked-I-can-barely-move-around. I was determined to work on just one or two projects at a time this year so I could have the space and the mindset to focus; but sometimes the best laid plans are wiped out when the furniture Gods rain down.
Some weeks it just pays to shop. In just one week, I found two solid wood dressers, an Ethan Allen sideboard and glass door hutch, a square coffee table, and a set of six chairs. And they all crossed my path in different ways. You can find out how I find furniture in this free ebook .
Here’s the long dresser I’ll be sanding down today.
There are so many ways I could refinish this long dresser; but I’d love your help choosing a finish and color. The drawers will need to be painted. You see how the venneer is chipped off? That will require a little wood filler to even out the surface. Then paint will smooth it out nicely.
The dresser box appears to be solid wood so it could be either paint or stain. I’ll actually have a better idea once I sand it down. Oh.. and did you notie that amazing, heavy-duty hardware? Those square handles could be black? Gold? Silver? Holy cow… so many choices and color combinations!
I’ve started this Pinterest board for Long Dressers and Sideboards. There a tons of ideas for colors and finishes. This long peach/pink dresser is heavenly. I’m absolutely in love with this bright white one too.
