The latest post about this Coastal Blue Dresser with Eagle Brass was accidentally deleted, so I’m reposting.
A client was picking up the white antique buffet that I refinished this past Fall and asked if I would like this dresser that was in her garage. Would I like it? Of course I would!
Here’s what the unfinished dresser looked like when I brought it home. That one drawer wouldn’t completely close – an easy fix – but otherwise it was in great (old) condition.
Thank you to Suzanne over at The Painted Drawer for providing the inspiration with her dresser that was almost identical to mine.
I went with the same General Finishes Milk Paint in Coastal Blue – a gorgeous navy.
The dresser is solid maple.
The drawer boxes are very large, dove-tailed construction, and some of the best made I’ve seen. The bottom drawer even had a built-in divider.
The hepplewhite brass hardware cleaned up very nicely to reveal an eagle emblem.
The polished brass is stunning against the dark navy.
This dresser is for sale in my Shop.
Thank you & Enjoy!

What a beautiful piece! I love the blue and brass combo (love those eagles too)! I’ve only tried Miss Mustard Seed’s milk paint so far…how do you think it compares to General Finishes? Coming over from Silver Pennies Sunday:)

Thank you! I haven’t yet tried MMS Milk Paint (but would love to). A local shop (very close to home) sells the General Finishes Milk Paint and I love it. It’s my new favorite. I definitely prefer it over the chalk paint. It covers so well, goes on so smoothly, and levels itself out so you’re not left with brush lines.
