Today I was able to finish up a matching set of hexagon tables. A well-made, heavy-duty, wood table with tons of storage is always a good find. Finding a matching pair is an added bonus. A pair can be used as bedside tables in the bedroom, end tables in a living room, or push them together for a 10-sided coffee table.
Here’s how the tables looked in their original form.
When I find a chunky piece of furniture that screams 1970’s, I like to take it in the complete opposite direction by adding a wild color.
Turquoise… Hot Pink… Sunny Yellow… Lime Green. So many to choose from!
Turquoise is very hot right now so I thought I’d give it a try.
So glad I did. The vibrant color balances the hefty weight of these tables nicely.
The original hardware was a tarnished brown. A quick spray paint and the new silver shines against the blue.
The insides were given a fresh coat of a light blue. Then both were finished off – both inside and out – with a clear wax to protect the finish.
The color inspiration actually came from a lamp in my daughters room. Pretty good match wouldn’t you say!
This pair of turquoise tables is for sale in my Shop.
Thank you & Enjoy!
