Lots of people must be buying new beds lately because I came across four of them in the past week. Actually, I came across a few more, but really… how many beds can you listen to me write about in a week! On the bright side, with so many now in stock I can go a little wild with the colors. I love to experiment!
First up is this queen sleigh bed. Can you believe a neighbor was actually putting this one out with the trash! I was so excited to see it, I pulled over while she was still putting parts out on the sidewalk, asked if she was planning to throw it away, and if so, could I have it? She may have been just as happy to have me take it as I was to have it. Her husband came out with the side rails and all of the parts neatly packed in a clear plastic bag. They explained they were moving soon and just didn’t have time for friends to come get it. My lucky day!
I was sure to explain to her that I refinish furniture and would likely fix any scratches and sell it – there are a few minor scratches but for the most part it’s in almost like new condition. The owner said it was only a little over a year old. SInce it’s almost new and the finish is in great shape, I won’t be painting this one – it’s just too nice the way it is.
Next up is a pine wood twin headboard. The funny thing about this headboard is it’s proof that my network is growing – my friends that now send me random text messages when they see furniture on the side of the road… I love it… too funny!
This photo was taken after I sanded it down and cleaned it with a bleach wash. I go crazy cleaning all furniture before I even bring it into my garage. It’s now ready to be primed and painted. I’ll post this for sale as an unfinished piece with the option for it to be painted a custom color.
This wood headboard and footboard is adorable. I love the pinecone finials and turned ballaster legs – this one is going to be stunning in a bright red or hunter green.
The forth headboard I found this week was one that I already refinished in a light pink. You can see that makeover here.
All of these headboards are for sale. For local pick-up only in Eastern, Massachusetts.
