Sometimes you can find perfectly good pieces of furniture being discarded because of a few scratches or a broken leg. Such was the case with this traditional coffee table.
It was a weekday morning after dropping the kids off at school, when I saw a young mom putting this coffee table out on trash day. Me being me, I pulled over and asked her if she minded if I take it. She was so sweet, she actually dug through cardboard boxes for me to find the two legs that had fallen off.
The turned legs on this table are gorgeous and were actually in perfect condition. The reason the original owner decided to get rid of the table was because the metal hardware that attached the legs had completely cracked and needed to be replaced. A little searching on Amazon and I was able to find the four metal brackets.
The tabletop had a few scratches, but that was an easy fix. A light sanding, a little dark walnut stain, a fresh coat of polyurethane and… Wha La!
A few of the darker spots didn’t absorb the stain quite as evenly, but due to the style of the table, they don’t appear to be imperfections. Instead, they add character!
I was so tempted to keep this one for my own living room. The dark walnut matched the mantle over my fireplace perfectly.
The two large drawers were in perfect condition and add some nice storage.
This traditional turned-leg coffee table is for sale in my Shop.
