You never know how much you appreciate something until it’s gone. Sidewalks ladies. Yes, I’m talking about sidewalks! The record 110 inches of snow here in Boston, has created enormous snowbanks on the sidewalks. NINE FEET! How is that even possible?
But alas, we can finally see the sidewalks. Sigh. I really missed them.
The snow is finally (almost entirely) gone so I actually got out furniture shopping this past week. Here’s a few of my fantastic finds…
A friend called to tell me their neighbor had just put this pine cabinet out on the sidewalk. Love when my network of friends keeps their eyes peeled for me! Here it is after I had sanded it down. I’ve begun painting it a winter white and plan to stain the top and add some feet.
This shutter-door cabinet is a perfect size for a dining room sideboard or sofa table.
This pine computer desk may not have much drawer storage, but it does have several cubbies (both front & back) that could hold books & baskets.
This two-tier coffee table was a disaster when a picked it up in the rain; but I loved the turned legs. Here it is after I sanded it down. I’ll post the remodel soon… it’s now looking very sharp in ebony stain.
Here’s a sneak peak at an amazing pedestal table I found today. The base is stunning and the top has incredible detail that will really pop with paint.
I also picked up these antique ski’s. I actually have a black pair leaning against the wall in my living room. They fill an empty corner very nicely.
Finally, this desk & hutch made by Pulaski Furniture was found at a local thrift shop. Some little girl was quite the makeup artist. It may be covered with nail polish, makeup, and glitter, but will be like new when I’m done with it.
I’ve missed the sidewalks and the things people leave on them. Now I just have to get my sander back from the repair shop and I’m good to go!
I’m happy to customize the paint color to match your home, so let me know soon if you’re interested in any of these pieces.
