This was a good week. I found some amazing furniture pieces that I was able to get started on today. This sideboard is my favorite. It’s made by Widdicomb Furniture Company. While I’d love to paint it a rich blue, I will likely be a little more conservative and let its natural elements shine. Perhaps a dark stained (almost black) top with a white or off-white body.
It came with the three large drawers (which just didn’t make it into the picture) as well as three small drawers on the top row that have this beautiful curve to them. The drawers even have built in dividers – the top ones for silverware, the bottom for plates or linens.
Stunning turned spindles and CASTERS!
I also found this dining room table made by Gettysburg Furniture Company. It has three leaf extensions – but I may only be able to save two of them. I better buy the value pack of sandpaper this time around!
Check out the table’s legs? Also on CASTERS! Yay!
Finally, today’s find was a petite dresser. The drawer boxes need some work; but nothing I can’t manage. The hardware will go. I’m debating whether to go girly on this one for a bedroom or perhaps finish it for use as an entryway table. At just 3 feet tall, it’s the perfect height to add a table lamp. It doesn’t look like much now, but… wait for it!
